Very tasty and filling. We had a Cubano, Champion, & Suizo. Can't beat the price for what you get!

We tried this place out while on our trip to CDMX and it was soooo filling. You have to order your food in line and once they have tables ready, they let you in. The staff was so nice as well. You cannot bring in drinks from outdoors. They had agua de horchata & jamaica for fresh waters to drink. The machete is huge and it was delicious. The sopes are also huge!!! We had the champion, the tinga de pollo, and bisteq and it was all super tasty. The green sauce was great. Highly recommend! This is a locals favorite, just so you’re aware. The bathrooms aren’t great, but the food is well worth the visit. I would encourage you to know what you want to order prior, and if with someone who is a Spanish speaker, even better. (I am mexican-American so this was no issue, but placing orders and reading the menu can be an issue if you don’t speak Spanish. Machete is a giant quesadilla, in case you read the menu and don’t understand that.)

Giant portion of Machetes you can only try here. Dough was pretty thin and crispy like pizza and there were lots of toppings. It was reasonable and fair price. Should go there if you're in close location

Bring your appetite. 3 foot long quesadillas are not easily taken down. There will be a very long wait. I went early and still waited 30 min. And if you don’t like Spicy food don’t bother with the salsas on the table. There is nothing mild about them at all

As soon as we arrived the rain and hail came. Such a great ambiance. This alley eatery is almost hidden, but don’t miss it while you are here.

The only place to go in Mexico City for machetes. A truly family run business with amazing hospitality and incredible food. There are many different machetes to try, we recommend the Cubano and Champion, so tasty. Check out our channel for a full review of our experience: Hungry Two Travel.

If you want to get away from the tourist trap restaurants and try something more authentic put this on your itinerary if visiting Mexico City, the Machetes and Huaraches are delicious! I sampled several ones and they were all great! Everyone in my party loved the food...just be advised cash only and the restrooms aren’t the greatest, but the food is on point!

I saw this place on a Youtube video and I made it my goal to visit here if I ever visited the CDMX. My goal was recently accomplished and my visit here was extremely stomach-pleasing. My first time having a two-foot long quesadilla. It was DELICIOUS. The SUPER HOT sauces were good as well. This place is off the beaten path, but I highly recommend it to ALL PEOPLE visiting the CDMX.
